Moving To Word Press

Hello Everyone.  I'm moving this site to Wordpress, as Wordpress allows for more control and the ability for all of you to post articles, as well as have different "channels" for different topics.  I'll be sending out links and hope to have it up tomorrow afternoon or Monday morning.

Ever had a Premonition ?

Have you ever had a premonition, or a dream about something and then that something happens?  So, I had a dream last night, about walking through a hallway in a generic looking office building, I'm continuing down a nondescript corridor when I approach a waiting area, and in the waiting area there is an older woman, talking with two police officers, in my dream, I can a sofa, and some chairs arranged around a small table, there is a building directory on the wall next to two elevators, the walls are adorned with cheesy art and the smell of freshly popped microwave popcorn hangs in the air near what looks like a breakroom, the woman approaches me, and my dream is interrupted by the Dropkick Murphy's "Shipping up to Boston" as the sound of my alarm beckons.  Fast Forward to later this morning, I have an appointment to meet with a lawyer who wants to hire me to locate someone, I arrive at at office building on the east central side of town, I park in the parking gara...

‘Trumponomics has utterly failed’: Paul Krugman details why the GOP’s economic worldview has collapsed

It’s often taken for granted that, whatever else you might say about President Donald Trump, he has at least been good for the U.S. economy. That, many argue, is the fact that may lead to his re-election in 2020. Except this uncritically accepted pearl of conventional wisdom is quite dubious, as many experts in economics would tell you. One of those experts, Trump-appointed  Fed Chair Jerome Powell , even announced a cut to interest rates this week in light of weak business investment in the economy and the uncertainty caused by the president’s trade wars. Another expert is economist  Paul Krugman , who wrote in a new piece for the New York Times Thursday: “Obviously Powell couldn’t say in so many words that Trumponomics has been a big flop, but that was the subtext of his remarks. And Trump’s frantic efforts to bully the Fed into bigger cuts are an implicit admission of the same thing.” He noted that the economy has actually been kept afloat somewhat by somet...

The Republican Party is ‘rattled’ as a wave of GOP lawmakers abandon ship

Having run out of “Dems in disarray” stories for the moment, Politico has one that will ring a lot better in your ears:  “Republicans rattled.”  Republicans in the House have been retiring at a furious clip the past few weeks, “but some Republicans fear the worst is yet to come.” They “have decided to call it quits instead of sticking around to see whether the party wins back power in 2020,” says Politico. Or maybe in their heart of hearts they see what their party has become and can’t stomach it anymore? Probably not, but at any rate it’s a trend to cherish. We’re at six retirements and counting, with even Republicans knowing there are more coming, and probably a rash of them while members are back home for the August recess. “Will there be more retirements? Most certainly there will be, for a range of reasons,” said one of the rats slinking off the ship, Rep. Paul Mitchell of Michigan. Everyone’s buzzing about who’s going to be next. This is Politico’s list of likely re...

The measure would allow congressional tax committees to access years of financial documents State senators signed off on legislation that would allow New York to release President Trump's state tax returns to one of three congressional committees, if asked: the House Ways and Means Committee; the Senate Finance Committee or the Joint Committee on Taxation. (Alex Brandon/AP) By   Jeff Stein May 8 at 1:43 PM The New York state Senate passed legislation Wednesday that would allow President Trump’s state tax returns to be turned over congressional committees, a move that could pave the way for House Democrats to obtain the president’s closely guarded financial records. The bill must still be approved by the state Assembly and signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.), but Cuomo has expressed support for the measure and Democrats have a majority in the legislature’s lower chamber. The legislation comes after the New York Times  published a report , based on 10...
